Drake may be best known for his rapping, but now he is launching his own marijuana business. The 33-year-old has collaborated with Canopy Growth to become the proud owner of More Life Growth Co., which is named after his 2017 mixtape of the same name.

Drake is said to have a 60 per cent stake in the company, which will produce and distribute cannabis and will be based in his hometown of Toronto. ‘The opportunity to partner with a world-class company like Canopy Growth on a global scale is really exciting,’ he said in a statement. ‘The idea of being able to build something special in an industry that is ever growing has been inspiring. More life and more blessings.

’ Canopy Growth Corporation CEO Mark Zekulin said that the company was ‘inspired’ by Drake’s vision in bringing ‘best-in-class’ marijuana across the world. ‘Drake’s perspective as a cultural leader and entrepreneur combined with Canopy Growth’s breadth of cannabis knowledge will allow our new company to bring an unmatched cannabis experience to global markets,’ he stated.

‘All in all, we couldn’t be more excited to partner with Drake to bring his vision for the More Life Growth Company to global cannabis markets.’

Drake also adds to the long list of other stars who also have their own cannabis businesses – such as Jay-Z, Whoopi Goldberg and Melissa Etheridge. And self-proclaimed weed lover Miley Cyrus also recently backed the opening of America’s first cannabis cafe – Lowell Café on La Brea Boulevard, West Hollywood.
